A Bouquet of Roses With a Dangerous Fragrance

Ririka is recollecting that fated moment when exchange student Kanou Nozomu gives her a mysterious birthday present. She is interrupted by Seiya, who boasts of his extracurricular skills and invites Ririka to partake of them, but she is thinking only of her senpai. Ririka wishes that he Kanou-senpai lived next door to her instead of Seiya. Seiya, on hearing this, storms off. Ririka doesn't seem very sorry for upsetting Seiya, and dreamily wonders what Kanou-senpai is doing at that moment.

Funny you should ask, Ririka-chan. He's trying to outrun a car bent on his destruction. Just when things are looking bad, he vanishes in a flash of light. Unfortunately, he wasn't expecting a second car to show up, and he is caught in a violent collision.

Ririka and Seiya hear the ambulance sirens from their rooms, and see Kanou being unloaded from the ambulence. In the hospital they learn his injuries aren't serious.
