Be forewarned. The Gazel Ministry conversations are designed to confuse, and no amount of translation will make them completely clear. Though I do think that I have a better grip on their meaning than ever after this project, my success in conveying this understanding to others remains to be seen. The key to getting the Gazel is, of course, having front-to-back knowledge of the game timeline, and I by no means claim to have a perfect understanding of everything that went on in Xenogears. I doubt anyone does. (If there is such a person, they ought to charge fanfic authors for continuity consultations. ^_^)
Subject to Interpretation. The other significant trait of the Gazel Ministry conversations is that they are structured in such a way that they force you to guess on their meaning. Even if you have front-to-back knowledge of the game its tricky to apply it correctly. What it comes down to is this: I'm guessing. I like most of my guesses; I think they really click. But I can't definitively prove I'm right. Also of questionable authority are all the designations for the 16 conversations-- here labeled by the party's location when they occur, and within by programmer's headings taken from the debug mode, for ease of identification.
